Welcome to The Nervous Novelist!
My name is Sam, a 39-year old mother of three kids and a happy wife to my husband of twelve years. What you’re reading are accounts of my crazy life, which serves as an outlet of the daily chaos that ensues around the house.
If you told me three decades ago that I would be living the kind of life that I have right now, I would not have believed you. Back then I was too focused on the Smiths and everything British, not knowing I would one day end up with a English husband. Yey!
This is a fairly new blog as I just started writing in this platform over a year ago. However, I have been a freelance writer for most of my adult life. Getting a degree in Journalism meant you had to be competitive and stand out from the rest, and while I did have my fair share of stories out in the field (told in several posts throughout the blog!), when my first child was born I chose to raise my children and be a stay-at-home mom. It wasn’t easy, but in life we have winning moments and losing moments. I have learned how to see and focus on the beautiful moments of life and see that it is wonderful!
I am by no means an expert on the topics I write on, but I do my research and base my advice from scenarios I personally dealt with. “The Nervous Novelist” stems from my own wavering self-confidence as I was growing up and learning how to deal with anxiety, but it also shows how I overcame that and am now enjoying day by day adventures with my family.
My hope is that my life stories, family advice, and thoughts about health, love, and career will be able to help my readers.
